For the price, sustainability, and removable battery, I would support this product. the sound quality is not the best, but it is decent.

I really want to like them, but they have significant flaws. Sound out of the box was terrible, but using the EQ from the app to increase the highs to +10db basically fixed it for the most part. The first actually bad part for me is the app. It's extremely bare-bones and half of the time doesn't even work. The buds' battery level shows up as N/A most of the time, and when it's not N/A it's a seemingly random value that doesn't reflect actual battery levels. The case doesn't even have an indicator of battery level either in the app or the Bluetooth pane (I think it shows you the battery level if you click the button on the case physically, but I'm pretty sure that isn't even mentioned in the instructions). The battery of the earbuds themselves is also all over the place, it seems that they don't fully charge sometimes, I have no idea why. I've had instances where the case was full, the earbuds were inside for a long while, and after taking an earbud out, it would die within 10 minutes. Half of the time I just expect them to randomly die even though they should be at full battery. Then the worst part, in my eyes, is the connectivity. The range on the buds is atrocious, I've never seen something with this bad Bluetooth range. I think a bit of the problem lies in the Fairphone itself as well, as it seems to have a bit weaker of a Bluetooth range compared to other phones I've used, but the Fairbuds definitely have major issues themselves. I've regularly had instances where having my phone in e.g. my back right pocket and an earbud in my left ear resulted in the earbud intermittently loosing connectivity, meaning that they're so weak they can't even pass through my own body. It's extremely annoying having to have my phone always next to me for them to work. I've never experienced connectivity issues with any earbuds I've had before these, these are by far the worse in that regard. I want to love them, they're so much more repairable and in theory should be longer lasting, but I'm not sure I'll be able to tough it out for them to be worth it.

All in all it is good but the battery keeps only about maximum 4 hours.

Great sound, great fit, and most importantly, great noise isolation thanks to the rubber around the pods. Sure, there are products with better Hi-Fi sound, but the fact that you can swap the battery makes these pods unbeatable when it comes to potential lifespan. Perfect for work like Teams meetings, phone calls and listening to Podcasts.

Better than the previous model. Too bad only two colors are available...

Great sound quality and I love that they're repairable!

The fit is luckily very good. I’m contempt with the audio quality overall, but the connection is a bit spotty sometimes. On iPhone it’s alright, but a bit annoying. On linux though, the connection is so spotty the earbuds are unusable. It is disappointing but I mainly bought these for biking and have other headphones for desk use.

I am no audiophile, but the sound seems correct to me. I tried it with a phone call, the mic is also doing a decent job. However the noice cancelling is not good at all. It does reduce some sounds in the street, however it useless against a baby crying.. The worst part is the bluetooth connectivity with my phone. I am using it with a FairPhone 4. 1/3 of the times, it works well. I take them out, put them in my ears, they connect to the phone. The rest of the times, either: - They don't connect automatically, I need to open the bluetooth settings to connect them manually - They connect but are in an error state, saying that I need to turn them off then on - Only one ear connect. It means that when I want to use them, I need sometime 1 minute to get them in a working state. Definitely not a seamless experience. Also it would have been nice to be able to customise the controls, I would have liked to use the one of the previous version of the FairBuds, and disable the google assistant. For now I am very disappointed in this product, and I don't see the point of being able to replace the battery to make them last longer, if they are so bad you don't want to keep them in the first place. I hope they can fix some of those issues with firmware updates The bluetooth connectivity is worse than the first version of the earbuds. As a side note, the TWS worked fine the first 6 months, then started having issues. The warranty policy replaced them, then the same issue happened. Now they completely died, less than two years after the purchase. So much for the durability.

They're quite comfy and don't feel like they'll fall off on their own. Got them for free with my Fairphone 5 and I'm glad I got these instead of the case + screen protector. These are my first wireless earbuds and I'm not disappointed. I like that they have touch controls.

Fairbuds are nicely made. Charging case with magnetic closing feels luxurious. Overall I love it after some testing, but I do think software side could be improved. Software is nice and simple which is a plus. I do preffer if functionality is in product itself rather than in some companion app (which can seize to exist/work) But I have three main problems with the SW of earbuds and app: - Fairbuds app is not available outside Google Play store - which seems to be big fail in my point of view. Ideally I would like to see APK download link on company website (since any human cannot probably publish and maintain app in all existing Android stores over the world - for me F-droid would be enough, but not ideal) - ANC is turned on by default and it just turned on everytime I turn Fairbuds on. That is very anoying. For me ANC has no positive effect (silicione tips does the isolation), and just ruins sound quality (I do have this problem with EVERY headphones, not just Failbuds). But on most concurrent products, ANC is disabled by default and I had to turn it on manually (JBL for example), or headphones just remembers the status in which they were turned off (Sennheiser for example). Enforcing ANC which ruins sound quality and (on most products) have significant impact on battery life is just stupid. - For some reason buds are "quiet" on bottom 3 volume levels - but not quiet like you would think, it's just no sound at all. On 4th volume level (something between 30-40% on slider) there is very quiet sound. On higher levels volume is OK, but jumps between levels are ridiculously huge. On 100% level buds are very loud. No other headphones does that on the same phone. - At first I was thinking the default and flat EQ settings are strangely muffled and did manual EQ adjustment to fit my preferred sound (boosted basses slightly, and highs - last two sliders almost to the max). But then I found there is something else messing with the sound. On Motorola there is some "AI" Dolby Atmos thing turned on by default. After disabling this thing in phone settings, default and flat profiles sounded both OK (but mine "tuned" sounded like a turd). So this is definitely not a fault of Fairbuds itself. But I wonder, how is it possible that other headphones does not have this problem?

A dampened sound that is not worth the price. On a technical aspect, theses earbuds are good! They are well put together, are easy to adapt to the ear and have functionnalities that work well (namely the noise cancelling and smart touch commands). But if I knew in advance that the frequency response cuts off at 12,000hz, I would'nt have bought them. This muffles everything in the high pitch range, giving the sensation that everything is constantly muffled. I thought I'd be able to make up for this with the EQs the app provide, but you can't manipulate what isn't there to begin with. As of such, I enjoy the object and it's conception, but don't enjoy using it at all. I wouldn't recommend buying it in such a state.

I'm sorry, but the very annoying sync issue with video is an actual dealbreaker. It's great that the batteries can be replaced and as such it should be a game changer.

They look nice and fair, for now! Let's see if i'll get used to it

I received these for free with my purchase and my I just got a bad pair but this was the worse piece of crap earbuds that I have ever used (and I am 50 so I used quite a few). To begin with, the call quality is appalling. The person on the other end can't hear you at all and describe it like I had pit the earbud in a can, place the can on the other side of the room and then whispered. The sound quality when playing music is worse the on my old wired OnePlus headphones that I got included with my OnePlus 6T (currently the headset I am forced to use since this is useless) the comfort is so so and the earbud keeps falling out of my ear, no matter what tip I use. If I bury it as deep as I can in my ear it soon because to uncomfortable to keep it in. I have, needless to say, contacted support about this headset but I won't keep my hopes up that possible replacement will fix these issues.

I received them as a gift and I couldn't be happier. I used to be sceptical about wireless earphones, but once I started using them my perception changed. They're very comfortable (despite some comments I've read), the sound is fairly accurate (although the treble is a bit grainy, the bass is great) and the app is a nice addition. It's true that the case is huge compared to the size of the Fairbuds themselves, and I still haven't figured out how to use them during calls, but overall I'm very happy with the experience, and despite the possible improvements, I've yet to see a business model as conscious as the Fairphone, so I guess that's what counts in the end.

really appreciate the fairbuds. Quality is really good, package is good and they look reliable. it might be good to add it in the Fairphone app also the buds, including the guidelines for use (even if those are printed and included in the box).

not as good as I tought. Difficult to pair initially and the controls too sensible, sometimes it stops when just adjusting in the ears. Also you cannot remove one withou stopping the reproduction.

A bit bulky in the ears but quality is good including notice cancelling feature.

The sound is very "in the middle", but it works for my purpose, which is to get through a day at work with soft music without applying pressure on my ears. Noise cancellation doesn't seem to work at all, or isn't enough to cancel my coworkers typing noise.

The fall often but maybe I only need new "rubber" that fit my small hear

Got in price of my fairphone purchase. My first buds earphones. Great product. Love the fairness of it. Sound quality is not perfect but functional, excellent for calls,and or as a backup when wired headsphones not available. Very nice charging box too.

- a little bit too much bass to my liking - the case could be a bit more solid-feeling (but then it would be heavier) - pairs really quickly - quite comfortable for my ears

Bit annoying to keep in the ears sometimes, but the quality is amazing.

Having several inner ear cups was helpful. I have smaller ears took a bit of getting used to once I understand where up and down was.. It would have been more helpful to have a picture of the bud in someone ear.

Build quality is nice and all but the fact that they do not support a lossless codec is a shame. If they did I would give quality 5/5.

There was a small issue with one battery, that didn't charge correctly, but as they are easy accessible in the earbuds I could fix the problem myself.

For that price, they are obviously not the best earbuds on the market. But when you download the app and tune the EQ (+3 dB at both 2400 Hz and 12000 Hz) they sound really good!

The headphones deliver what was promised. Sound is above average for the money. The comfort ist very good. Normally in-ear headphones don't work that good with my ear but they seem to fit very good. All in all a very good product

I started using the Fairbuds a few days ago. So far they are very comfortable, the sound quality is great and they look so nice.Also, the service has been excellent as always, in terms of punctuality, precision and attention to detail.

Very comfortable and amazing fit. Happy with the sound quality of music and voice for this price. However, the microphone is useless, no matter what the background noise I cannot be well understood as my voice sounds distorted. Still, great to have something produced with a good conscience so I do not regret my choice and adapted my user case.

The sound transmission is flawless. But the noise cancellation is bad. The fit in the ears could be better.

Earbuds only stay in my ears with difficulty. Also can’t find how to get extended guarantee. Not terribly happy so far.

The sound is good, and even if they are a bit heavy the fairbuds are quite comfortable. Not happy at all with the microphone during the calls. Since the first call I made, I had to start using the built in microphone of my fairphone after a few minutes because my interlocutors said the sound made it impossible to hear well, both very noisy and with regular cuts. When I look at the comments I see that I am not the only one disappointed. Also the touch-button is a bit too sensitive, it's hard to adjust the fairbuds in my ears without touching it and pausing the sound without wanting.

The user experience is good! The sound is good, microphones work nicely during meetings. The buds are capable of remembering more than one device and switches between them gracefully when for example getting a phonecall while being connected to a meeting through a computer. Well done! And of course the durability and fixability is best in class.

Left headphone broken after 1 month. No answer from the support at all. Don't have headphones for a week now and no one answering my ticket at fairphone. Loved the product and the idea. Dislike the service. Will most likely buy other buds now and will hopefully get my money back.

Sound quality average - for the price, the quality could/ should be better. One of the buds does not work well, and might be broken.

I'm disappointed by the noise cancelling - it can't cope with the wind noise when on the bike or walking. The buds are fairly bulky and I worry about them slipping out. I can feel it working loose as I strain to pull up a weed in the garden. They appear well built and were very easy to set up and operate.

Nothing to complain. My Fairbuds are OK. As well as the Fairphone, the price of the Earbuds is a little bit greater than other brands' products, but the relevant difference is that these products are FAIR - so I'm glad to pay some more money for this.

I tried “the best” ANC wireless earbuds after these, and came back to the Fairbuds. Very similar, which is fantastic for half the price.

The audio quality is really really poor, in contrast to the ads on the homepage. I'm very satisfied with my FP5, but really disappointed by the audio quality of the Fairbuds. Also the returning process of Fairphone with response times of 9 days is a bit annoying, but finally it worked out well.

The microphone is terrible, I cant be understood in calls or recordings at all.

Fit and handling are fine. The sound is acceptable if listening is not the only thing you do, but definitely not good enough to use this as a device to "sit down and listen to music" with.

Good fit and very good sound quality. The case is also well made and sturdy. One thing I'm having trouble with is getting anybody to hear me through the microphones, although I don't know whether it's a software or hardware problem. That's just about the only con. Otherwise the concept of replaceable batteries and the convenience of wireless earbuds is perfect.

Finally sustainable earbuds. I waited for a long time and am pretty happy 😊

Batteries in my Linkbuds S died so I decided to try something more replaceable. I using them only outside or when going to sleep with ASMR. From the box, sound was very atrocious and equalizer didn't do anything. I thought about returning but on the next day equalizer worked and now they sound pretty good. The charging box around two times bigger, not the deal breaker for me, but definitely a little shocking 😅 Overall, works fine (though the first day when I connected to the iPad, I got asynchronization issues). Of course the main purpose why I bought it is repairability and this perk will come later.

There's a bug that causes sound of video's or series that you're watching to be out off sync. Very annoying to watch anything. I expected more for this price. Customer service said they are working on a fix but can't say when this would be released. So I had to send them back unfortunately, I'm not keeping earbuds for this money with only a promise that they're working on it(something that's a basic functionality problem). They should have worked out these kinks before releasing them OR be upfront with new buyers that this is a known problem and they are working on a fix.

these fairbuds are simply something too good! very pricey but materials are pretty good, dismounting battery too is a great function for giving life again to earphones and its battery charger. Appreciated so much

Like reviews I watched, during call I Heard a strange click. One time a right fairbids seems stopped working, I inverted batteries and the dame fairbuds continue not working, I tried check guide for issue solving, by cancelling association and re doing pairing by pressing ten second button working, not perfectly during call but work.

Come with 3 different nupsis to optimize in-ear comfort. Quality is okay - matches with what I read beforehand in more detailed reviews.

I liked the idea of repairable earbuds but I got disappointed in two areas that are important to me. First, the sound quality is way below average and the EQ in the app does not help. Second, noise cancelling is not sufficient to say the least. In addition, bluetooth connection sometimes breaks for fractions of a second when turning my head and generally you should not move more than 3 metres from your phone (fairphone 4). I'll try fairphone earbuds in the future but the current product is not worth buying (sorry!).

Sound is good, buds fit pretty well, and battery life seems reasonable. However, the mic isn't nearly good enough to replace my QuietComfort II's. Other people on Teams calls routinely report that they cannot hear what I'm saying. When I'm outside, light wind is enough to render me inaudible in WhatsApp calls. I'm hopeful this can be addressed in a future firmware update. Current firmware: v56.

Sound is relly good but ergonomics aren't. Despite the different plugs they feel always close to fall and every time you readjust them the touch surface triggers an unwanted action. TBH the value for money is 3 because of your ethical and green approach not for the product itself which otherwise would be probably a 2 out of 5

I bought the Fairbuds mostly for hands-free calling at work, because they're repairable and because I want to support Fairphone (If they offered a small fairphone, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.) The buds are actually very good overall. They connect instantaneously and fit well. The audio quality isn't the best which is to be expected from small buds. However, when calling on fairbuds, I get complaints about call quality. Calling on buds is the reason why I got then, hence the 3 star review. I hope this get resolved with an update. That would make me 100% satisfied with the purchase.

Earbuds that can last technically forever since you can easily repair them yourself. Sound is good and comfort is okish but that is always a very subjective point.

Default audio tuning is laughably bad, all mids, no bass, no treble, out of the box they sound like telephone quality. Without tweaking in a tuning app like Wavelet they're abysmal. However they can be tuned to sound decent, just not what I expected when its marketed as "premium". The Bluetooth radios are also exceptionally weak, just having my hand in between my phone and the buds would often lead to desynced audio between left and right earbuds, even when my phone is just 10cm away. ANC quality is however very good when compared to the likes of Samsung and Sony, and manages to even surpass them in certain situations, like on public transit, it did an excellent job filtering out people talking even without music on. However I can hear slight chirping coming from the drivers when no audio should be playing and ANC is off, it just feels unrefined. Also, why can't I disable the touch controls? All other true wireless buds have let me disable them. Also please give me an option to disable the voice going "connected", every time I put them in. Good first try, Fairphone, but do better next time. I hope you'll be able to improve the audio quality with a firmware patch, the drivers you've picked out can sound excellent if you just have them the opportunity to.

The earbuds are great, it's just unfortunate that we bought them to use with a Fire TV stick and sadly it apparently has issues (disconnects constantly) with TVs and related devices. However, fairphone said upon contacting them that it is already working on a firmware fix that will solve this. If this was a cheap device it would be understandable but since it's a bit on the expensive side I want to be open about it so people know before they spend this amount of money!! We are overall satisfied, it is a high quality product even with a small bug.

honestly, I expected more. upside: replaceable battery, better comfort (for me, i believe this is personal) than the previous green earbuds you sold. However, the downsides far outweigh the upsides: The casing: - it's bulky - the clamshell opening sucks, if you drop 9/10 the headphones go flying all over the place. - the charging status is unclear - it feels like cheap plastic about the phones: - the gestures work less well for me - kind of on the big side - it's 50% markup from the previous ones you sold for an all around inferior product. would not buy again

Very clear sound both when playing music and when making voice calls. May take a little setting up. If the right earbud doesn't work at first, pressing the button on the earbud charging case for 10 seconds induces a factory reset, after which the pairing utility works perfectly.

A mssing killer feature is being able to configure what the various actions (button presses, etc) can do

Sadly one of the buds don't recharge propperly. I will try to connect to fairphone to fix this. But such faulty Equipment ist verry sad.

Good ANC. Rather big in total, and sometimes a bit uncomfy if worn for a longer period of time. Perfect for concentrated working for one or two hours.

The Fairbuds fit nice in my ear and offer a comfortable way to control music and phone calls without having to ouch the phone. They can connect to several devices at the same time, which is very comfortable e.g. for video conferences: You don't have to disconnect your phone to use your Fairbuds. The mostly recycled fabric feels solid and the weight is fine. Of course it is great that the batteries inside the buds and the base station can be replaced. Unfortunately the sound quality for music playback is rather poor.

Positives: Sound for me is ok, even though some tests on the internet say it is bad - but I am not an audiophile so it's quite ok (even though definetely better in other earbuds, but this is something I have gotten used to with the more sustainable options with everything). Recommend using the bass setting though - it improves the sound! Negatives: For me the buds are not great with comfort, as the oval shape of the speaker drum is hurting my ears after longer use. Also the connectivity is not great, Fairbuds skip audio even when the phone is only in my trousers back pocket, not possible with phone lying somewhere around a corner to still have good connection. Overall the volume could also be a bit higher, so that I can use them while working (loud environment, which I did with other earbuds) I did think about returning them honestly, am both to lazy to search for other options and to send them back though.

Descent quality product. Clear sound. Only gripe that practical range is limited, as it starts to lose it after a few meters away from phone, especially indoors.

Doesn’t fit in my ear and falls out too easy. Left bud didn’t work anymore after falling two times, right bud suddenly produced very high tones that were painful.

While the sound is usually pretty good and the controls work well it has connection issues that are hard to get past. While walking with my Fairphone 5 in trousers pocket connected to the earbuds it will regularly disconnect in one ear and I have to shake my head to get it to connect again. This happens quite frequently when I have my hand in my pocket

PRO It is my first pair of Wireless earbuds and I would say that the fact alone that a problem with the battery can be simply solved by changing the battery and not trowing the buds away is worth the price. I wore them for more than 2 hours and found them really comfortable, audio quality may not be the best but definitely better then my wired buds and more than enough for me. The touch commands are responsive and I do not really care that they are not customizable. CONS The only real downside is the delay that one has when watching videos. This should be definitely improved. Inner coating of the case is also going away really easily but it is not a downside for me.

Overall - everything works, be aware that these earbuds have like.. 400ms of audio delay, even on desktop devices. Suitable for music listening. Not suitable for gaming at all, somewhat suitable for video playback (minor lip-sync issues). -1 for comfort: these ear tips should be a little bit deeper to prevent them from falling out -1 for overall rate: the firmware is still probably missing proper bluetooth audio latency information in the protocol, causing lip-sync issues in the video. Everything was tested on the newest firmware from the Fairbuds app. Waiting for the updates, these things can be fixed!

The subpar noice cancelling is forgivable. What's not forgivable is the fact that it cannot connect to an iPhone without getting into a silly update loop, which most of the time freezes, or advances to a random number and then freezes. Oh and we're talking for 10 minutes not the 5-6 Fairphone suggests. There are several other issues even on Android, but safe to say that Fairphone is either bad at sound accessories, testing or these buds need more development. Do not purchase at this time.

The microphone is very poor, compared to other earbuds. A person I talk to can not hear me clearly, have to disconnect and talk on the phone
